Opening Remarks - Kyle Hope

  • Another successful season of softball and baseball
  • Lots of opportunity to Improve
  • Thanks to all members that filled out year-end survey
    • 94 feedbacks with lots of things to discuss

Softball - Karly Simpson/Brad Sigmeth

  • Lots of successes this season
  • U17A girls had a good showing at Westerns
  • Looking to form a U19 team next year
    • Looking for commited girls
    • Will need 10 girls to move ahead with it
    • Need numbers by end of Nov.
    • Can’t join forces with MJ
  • Softball Sask AGM coming up
    • Free online clinics
    • How to earn Points towards coaching certifications
    • U11-U19 have to declare A/B by Dec.1 It will be based off last year’s team registered
    • Karly will be putting forward a motion to change the zones by Oct.25/25
  • RMSL AGM - Brad attended
    • Lease up with City of Regina
    • Renegotiate/ fees will go up
    • Increase in cost of diamond use $5/hr/team for diamonds outside of 9th Ave N
      • Will increase budget by $30,000
    • Forming a sub-committee
      • improvement of diamonds
      • group of parents
      • anyone can join
    • Talking about removing teams, not us
      • Smaller centers away from the city (don’t want to drive basically)
    • Equipment - Mark
      • Jerseys are good
      • Need balls and various equipment
      • Replace stolen items
      • Need to change the locks on the sheds
      • U5-U11 need more equipment

 

Baseball - Kyle Hope/Jeff Foster

  • 9U to 13U all had successful season
    • League champs, 2nd places in league and provincials
    • 15U AA league champs, provincial champs and 2nd at Westerns
    • 18U AA Provincial Tier 2 Champs

 

  • Some feedback concerns
    • 11U A teams not made fairly
    • Evaluations - frustrating for parents when kids who shouldn’t be playing at a certain level are on the team.

Evaluations - Kerry Dietz

  • Will be held at The Den in Regina
    • Taller ceilings better for outfield work
    • Has a couple batting cages
    • One pitching lane
  • Early Feb Dates to be confirmed
  • 5 hour sessions
  • 1 hr 45 min. per age group
  • 2X per week
  • In house evaluators this time Cubs alumni/ community members who have been involved with baseball in the past
    • Must commit to both evaluations for an age group to have consistency
    • Maybe some game play if we have some time
  • Adding u11 Softball to evals this year
  • Things to evaluate - groundball, fly balls, pitching & hitting
  • Next Season - Player Feedback from Coaches
    • Will help with following years evaluations/ bubble pick
    • Feedback on hit/throw/catch
    • Work effort/attitude
    • Game Knowledge

 

15U AAA - James Huck & Kerry Dietz

  • SPBL will have a meeting to see if Lumsden can join that league
  • Will know by Nov. 15/25
  • James and Kerry will be Coaches
  • Tryouts will be end of November

 

 

Financials - Melanie Pare

  • See attached financial sheet
  • $142,000 in registrations last season
  • 180 softball, 140 baseball
  • Thank you to Lions for $25,000 donation for upgrading back stop on Jets diamond
    • Now more softball games can be played hter

  • Fundraising - Kyle is attending town meeting
    • They are forming a fundraising committee to help all clubs in community to fundraise for goals
